He was reportedly not only liable to serve jail time, but also provide restitution to the victims and pay off unpaid taxes.

Sadly, it has also been reported that a Connecticut teenager was indicted for allegedly running a nearly $500,000 Ponzi scheme and defrauding 15 investors. In 2014, the FBI arrested a former financial adviser and broker of Cortland Place for allegedly milking investors out of millions of brokers. Then, in the widely reported and what is believed to be the largest Ponzi scheme in Connecticut, Francisco Illarramendi of New Canaan, former owner of a hedge fund, was sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for allegedly bilking millions from his investors.
